My Homemade Journey

Welcome to Josie's Treats.

I grew up in Oberon, NSW, where admittedly there wasn't an awful lot to do. I spent my time learning how to cook from my wonderful mother, a trained chef.

As I grew into a teenager, I began working in hospitality and developed a dream to bring joy to those around me through incredible food. That is where my admiration for the community around homegrown produce began as well.

During lockdown, I put my baking skills to the test and I am now living in Smithtown and fortunate enough to be in a position to pursue my passion.

Every recipe has been tried and tested, ensuring everything is scrumptious and filled with love (and a bit of sugar).

What's In the Garden?

One of the first jobs when we moved to Smithtown was building ~14 square metres of veggie gardens.

September garden update:

Spring is here! I have filled the gardens with seeds and hopefully the weather plays nice this year and we get some lovely crops. The zucchini, cucumber and watermelon have started germinating and I will be building a trellis arch for them to grow over this year.

What's going well: My blueberry has been thriving after some good coffee ground fertiliser. Looking forward to some juicy berries in the summer.
