My Homemade Journey

Welcome to Josie's Treats.

I grew up in Oberon, NSW, where admittedly there wasn't an awful lot to do. I spent my time learning how to cook from my wonderful mother, a trained chef.

As I grew into a teenager, I began working in hospitality and developed a dream to bring joy to those around me through incredible food. That is where my admiration for the community around homegrown produce began as well.

During lockdown, I put my baking skills to the test and I am now living in Smithtown and fortunate enough to be in a position to pursue my passion.

Every recipe has been tried and tested, ensuring everything is scrumptious and filled with love (and a bit of sugar).

What's In the Garden?

One of the first jobs when we moved to Smithtown was building ~14 square metres of veggie gardens.

November garden update:

In September I filled the gardens with seeds and we have get some lovely crops. The zucchini and watermelon have stretched their viney limbs over the new trellis arch Luke built. The rocket shot up and went to seed very quickly but we got a good harvest before it did. I am not adding anything else right now as I won't be able to commit the time over the holidays.

What's going well: My string beans are shooting up and will be ready for harvest very soon.
